I love the idea of “taking stock” – it’s 10 minutes of my time where I reflect on the month that was and capture the things that made the month! I stole the idea off Sam at The Annoyed Thyroid – and I hope it’s something I can keep up!
Baking: Not Quite Nigella’s Anzac Slice for Anzac Day – delicious!
Snacking: on pistachios – yay for cheap big bags from Costco.
Cooking: hot cross buns for Easter and anzac related desserts for Anzac Day.
Drinking: as soon as the temperatures drop, I start drinking tea again – I tried the new Twining’s variety “morning tea” and it’s good!
Eating: vegetables, vegetables and more vegetables – trying to fit in at least a plate of vegetables at each meal. I do love vegetables so it’s not proving too hard.
Bookmarking: all the travel blogs on Santorini and Puglia. We’ll be visiting these places in September and I’m already planning!
Filling: our home with polaroid snaps – every couple of months I print off our favourite photos from the month and hang them around the house.
Making: lots of Italian pasta recipes. I’m working with Pasta Garofalo on traditional recipes from each of Italy’s region. Check out all the recipes that I’ve created so far here.
Sharing: lots (too much!) on Instagram stories. If you don’t already, follow me @giuliaporro_loveateverybite.
Feeling: anxious, about a few things. It’s a silly feeling but I can’t shake the anxiety away.
Wishing: the warm weather will last a bit longer (and fingers crossed because so far, it is!)
Buying: a lot of wine from our recent visits to Beechworth, Rutherglen and the King Valley. We have over 100 bottles of wine in our house now.
Wondering: why I get so anxious over small things.
Booking: a long weekend away in June to celebrate my birthday, the queen’s birthday and the end of another uni semester! Snowy Mountains it is!
Taking: time to make home made goodies, including bread, butter, jam, pasta and cheese!
Discovering: new spots around Canberra – have you been following my “Discover somewhere new, every week, for the whole of 2017”?
Staying: in Beechworth’s old mental asylum, that has been converted into a nice hotel.
Enjoying: the lovely autumn colours everywhere.
Running: not running at all – I hate running. But walking? Lots.
Realising: winter is coming, but that’s ok – it just means lots more hot chocolates and soups and risottos.
Loving: cooking – all I want to to do is cook all day. I wish.
Losing: weight. I’m trying.
Wearing: lots of Jacqui-e dresses – my absolute favourite!
Hoping: some good news will come my way in May!
Finding: lots of good places to eat in Canberra, particularly in our local area!
Marvelling: at the transformations that happens when baking bread, tempering chocolate and making cheese!
Wanting: more time to mess around in the kitchen!
Missing: mum and dad. Wish they were closer!
Needing: more time in my life to do things!
Thinking: about opportunities….
Following: lots of local instagrammers, so many talented photographers in Canberra!
Remembering: how small and cute Tomas was when he was a newborn
Enjoying: the sunny, autumn days and the red foliage everywhere!
Trying: to borrow more books from the library (especially cookbooks) before buying them!
Opening: bottles of wines from our recent trips to Mudgee and Beechworth!
Seeing: Beauty and Beast with some girlfriends, it’s a good romantic movie!
Listening: to lots of Ed Sheeran. I’m obsessed.
Liking: English style aniseed balls – I found them in the Beechworth lolly shop and bought a pack.
Disliking: having to study for mid semester exams. Poo.
Getting: used to the dark afternoons, I hate that its dark by the time I leave work – boo hoo.
Admiring: people who are true to themselves.
Reading: lots of university notes – double poo.
Watching: Thirteen reasons why on Netflix – annoying, sad, truthful and addictive all at the same time and…Designated Survivor…one word: obsessed!
Celebrating: The birth of our friend’s baby girl.
Looking forward to: Our holiday in Europe in September – the planning has begun!
How was your April? What did you get up to?
